The Weight of Decision: A Journey Through Responsibility in Business

In 2018, I started EA Woodworks as a part-time endeavor, sharing my furniture design concepts with the public for the first time. Initially unaware of the challenges involved in running a small woodworking business, my first hurdle was to showcase my skills and market them effectively. The most logical step was to establish a website and build a social media presence, despite my lack of expertise in this area. I immersed myself in this new endeavor, gaining knowledge through trial and error. As time passed, the website has developed into its current form. Nevertheless, the past six years have shown me that this journey is continuous and always changing.

Establishing EA Woodworks as a formal LLC business posed a challenge. Completing numerous state and federal forms, applying for tax-exempt status, opening a business bank account, learning financial software for invoicing, and tracking expenses were all tasks undertaken without any prior knowledge or experience. These were accomplished through research and seeking advice from individuals with relevant expertise. Such steps are crucial for the foundation of a small business.

After 6 years, EA Woodworks has evolved into a full-time occupation, and creating the products has proven to be the least difficult aspect of this venture. The main challenge has been managing time effectively, as I fulfill multiple roles within the business, including designer, builder, customer service representative, marketer, financial manager, and more. Nevertheless, witnessing the growth of the business and the satisfaction of numerous clients over the years has been highly gratifying. I am excited about the prospects that lie ahead for EA Woodworks.
